From that day forward, many of our lives changed. Our friends lists grew. Our worlds expanded outside our communities or countries. We learned of new lands we'd never heard of or only read in history books. We met people of many nationalities and languages. Our translator software started working in overtime. As we watched the news, disasters around the world became personal. We learned the reasons for holidays we never before experienced. We learned while our weather was in one season, people on the other side of the world were having the polar opposite. We shared memories of a common man: Michael Jackson. But there was something that would bond us quickly in addition to our L.O.V.E. for Michael:
The Official Michael Jackson Opus.
This Sunday, July 18, 2010, will be our SEVENth month anniversary. It's only the first of many to come. Friendships we have made this year will last our lifetimes, and perhaps even into the next generation. Silly? Perhaps. Time will tell. One thing is for sure- I can't believe there are still people waiting for their Opus!
In the meantime, it is with great honor and gratitude to announce we have a new place to keep in touch, thanks to one of our own: Paly, from Chile. She worked very hard on creating a new site for us to talk, share news, pictures and continue networking. This site isn't meant to replace this blog or any other MJ fansite, rather to keep our unique bond growing strong. The site is called IACOPS Stories. For the life of me, I can't remember what IACOP stands for (International Alzheimers _____ Opus ______ that's all I can remember... thus the Alzheimers!)
So, take a minute to register. It's free, easy to use, full of all kind of goodies and no moderation or rules. Yipeeee! Hope to see you there!
And here's to our anniversary *raises champagne glass to toast* Many more to come!
