Holly Terrace defaced UPDATE

TMZ has learned Michael Jackson's tomb has been defaced by a stealth band of vandals -- who have marked the walls of MJ's mausoleum with hidden messages ... and it's all in permanent ink.

Security at Forest Lawn in Glendale, CA is on the lookout for "fans" who have been writing messages in hard-to-spot places outside the main window of the building in which MJ in entombed.

The writing is mostly hidden underneath ledges -- or in spots covered by bushes -- and contains messages like, "Miss you" and "Keep the dream alive."

Reps at Forest Lawn are pretty ticked off -- telling TMZ, "Activity such as this, is a prime example why we are evaluating the level of access to the various entrances of the Great Mausoleum."

Forest Lawn also tells us that anyone caught vandalizing the cemetery will be banned for life.

I don't know about any one else, but this really makes me mad.  These fans who continue to disobey FL's rules are going to end up getting the rest of us banned for life too!  And generations of MJ fans yet to come.

A**holes!  (oops)

What are your thoughts?

UPDATE: Here is a recent AFP report, which cites TMZ' report from this morning (above). Pay particular attention to the ending of this report:

Michael Jackson fans deface his tomb, discretely
(AFP) – 19 minutes ago

LOS ANGELES — Fans of the late Michael Jackson have defaced his mausoleum with small messages, tucked behind windows or bushes, expressing how much they miss him, entertainment website TMZ.com said Tuesday.

"Miss you," "Keep the dream alive," are some of the messages scribbled in indelible ink by unknown Jackson admirers, who are now in the cross hairs of security guards at Forest Lawn cemetery in the Los Angeles suburb of Glendale, TMZ.com said.

Cemetery officials were quite angry when they discovered the graffiti.

"Activity such as this, is a prime example why we are evaluating the level of access to the various entrances of the Great Mausoleum," they told the entertainment website.

They said they did not report the incident to police, but that anybody caught vandalizing the cemetery would be banned for life.

Jackson fans around the world marked the first anniversary of his death last month, with candlelight vigils, slumber parties, a jailhouse memorial dance and other celebrations.

More than 5,000 photos, stuffed toys, flowers and other ornaments were left at his tombside in Forest Lawn.

The eccentric genius died aged 50 from a drug overdose at a rented Los Angeles mansion on June 25 last year.

If this fans want to write sth to him...they should do it in a piece of paper and let it there...NOT IN THE WALL !....

  4. No!!! No!! Is not possible!!! This is horrible, I'm disgusted! The people could leave love messages on tickets, why dirty walls? I'm really, sorry. Unfortunately in Italy too are there bad habits. I don't approve, is lack of respect. Sigh!

  5. A visitor's book(s),like the one at Mj's funeral, would be the right think for this situation. So the fans can express their feelings about Michael and FL to avoid the writtings on the wall, which are in my opinion too,a same for every MJ fan.
Now,who's gonna pay for them?Don't know!

  7. lmao... have to figure out who Bubbles is... lmao!

As for the topic-- yes, I'm still raging mad about this. I can't believe that ANY fan would think it was appropriate to do this.

Disgusting. Disrespectful to MJ, to FL, to families of the other loved ones who are also encased there. Really really shameful. Each one of those people should be very ashamed of themselves.

I hope if any other fans hear the stories and know the people are who did it, will turn them in-- or at least call them out on it.

If not-- then I hope they read this post and the comments made by other fans.
