WATW-R ALERT: 1,870 Russian families homeless: 40 dead

Please read the latest update on the fires in Russia here and video here.  According to the article, there are 1,870 families who have lost their homes.  40 people have lost their lives.

Here is a crowdsourced piece translated by Global Voices (thru RuNet Echo) from Russia discussing how citizens are trying to organize the online community to help.

    Cali.. this link is amazing! I love the subcategories... need/have clothes, need/have transport, need/have food.. it offers the basics that people need NOW!
    We are too far away to offer any necessities... and it seems a bit disorganized in the way of monetary donations. What can we do to help?

    Excuseme... The Russian Government contends that all families are under state protection and... payed compensations to the families. I hope it's true!But people whose homes were burned...
